Kashagan is the greatest crude oil deposit which has been discovered for the last 30 years. It is situated in The Caspian Sea not far from Atyrau. In 2000 a number of partners ( Shell, Exxon Mobil, Total, ConocoPhillips, KazMunaiGas, IMPEX, Eni) started works on the project aiming to build platforms and bring the oil from this source to be exploited. Eni are responsible of the project development and Shell are going to work on oil production. Unfortunately, the realization of the project can be contained neither in the accepted schedule nor in the budget. (As far as now, the costs increased by 400%.) According to the latest forecasts, the oil production should start in June 2013. Workers for Fosdalen worked at Kashagan platform finishing in 2007-2008.
